Hello! I've been an artist and a teacher for most of my life, and am excited to share those skills with online students. In 1993 I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Art Education, and in 2005 I added a graduate certification in teaching Computers and Related Applications. In addition to teaching art to K12 students, I've taught adult Community Education classes for years. I look forward to helping students of all ages improve their drawing skills and learn both physical techniques and how to look at the world as an artist. As a teacher it has always been my belief that anyone can learn how to draw. I'm a firm believer in constructive critiques, where we talk about what you learned and about what can still be worked on. There is always more than one way to approach a drawing task, and allowing student creativity promotes confidence and artistic expression. In addition to teaching art, I have years of experience and another teaching license as a computer application teacher to K12 students and adults. I teach everything from basic computer skills (keyboarding, what the different parts of the computer are called, how to save and find files, etc.) to more advanced classes like Mail Merge in Microsoft Word, or how to use Photoshop tools. I can also teach students how to use Paint.net, which is a free program available to PC users and comparable to Photoshop. In 2018 I moved to Idaho, where I live in the mountains with my dog and my family. The beauty here inspires me creatively every day. I look forward to meeting new students and learning what inspires you!

Cynthia is a wonderful artist and teacher! She is very kind and patient with students. She helped me with a PowerPoint presentation with transitions and background music that I had no clue how to do, and I am very grateful for her assistance.
