My daughter and I started with swimming as mommy & me. She was coached with several swimming instructors but she never enjoyed or felt comfortable with anyone in the water besides me. After several weeks my daughter moved up and began doing private lessons with Cynthia. I was shocked with how quickly she adjusted to Cynthia. I was quite nervous in the beginning because I was no longer in the water with her or in sight, but after her 3rd lesson I noticed a big change in my daughter, she wasn't in fear of the pool. She began trusting coach Cynthia and began creating a strong bond with her. She would get excited for her lessons and even walked over to Cynthia after the 4th lesson on her own. There was no struggling, screaming, crying or begging to go home. She let go of my hand and walked over to her and enjoyed her lesson. I can't tell you how happy that made me feel. My daughter was finally enjoying her lessons and listening to her coach. Since taking lessons with coach Cynthia my daughter continues to love the water. If you are thinking of hiring Cynthia for private or group lessons, I HIGHLY recommend her. She's soft spoken, gentle, understanding, sweet, calm, patient, and very good with children especially making your child feel comfortable in the water. She's amazing! I have had many opportunities to use other swimming coaches but I refuse to go anywhere else because why break the bond my daughter has with Cynthia. She loves her and so do I.

Cynthia's personality and ability to make people feel comfortable is the secret not only to her success, but to the student's success. She's perfect for the "first-timer" and/or beginner.

As a Professor of Theater in the graduate Interdisciplinary Arts Program of Nova Southeastern University, I have taught Cynthia Duffield Playwriting and Drama Therapy. Her work was outstanding in both courses. She wrote a fine play in the former course and demonstrated decided skill in utilizing dramatic techniques for therapeutic purposes in the latter. I have gotten to know her well personally, and can testify to her extensive background in theater studies and excellence as an actor. This combined with her delightful personality have resulted in her becoming a superlative teacher!
