English (ESL) with Cynthia B.

Hello! I am Cynthia. I am a high school "English" teacher, with more than 30 years experience teaching English. When teaching English conversation, my specialty is grooming business professionals for advancement in their company, as well as preparing high school students for college. I also love learning other languages and cultures and I speak five languages (English, Spanish, American Sign Language, Signed Exact English, Tagalog). I have also lived and taught around the world because I love learning about new places and people! In addition to English grammar, I also teach English conversation that includes every-day English, as well as terminology associated with business, technology, finance, medical and sports. I enjoy using discussion, role play, news articles and most importantly "tongue" exercises when teaching. Using tongue exercises helps students to speak English or Spanish more clearly, because we are not only focusing on pronunciation; but also, annunciation (speaking clearly). My method for teaching is unique and my students make very fast progress. One of my students, who spoke absolutely no English when we began, was even able to present his research findings in English at his university after only studying with me for two months! I am also an acting/drama coach. In the past I was a voice actor for commercial video and audio recordings. I am very skilled in teaching non-English speaking actors how to say their lines in a clear and believable manner.
