Hi, there! My name is Cristina, and I graduated from UC Davis in 2014 with Highest Honors and a BA in English, double emphasis in Creative Writing and Literature, Criticism, and Theory, and a Minor in Art History. I'm a tutor who is always looking for creative ways to help students learn. I cater to the specific needs of each individual and work to create a broader context for the subject they are learning in order to make each student feel like what they are learning is exciting and important.
As an undergraduate, I won several awards for my fiction, including two first place prizes for university contests and the award for Best Creative Honors Thesis for my collection of short stories. As a tutor, I use my experience as a student in creative writing workshops and as a writer to help students hone their writing skills, find their voice, and reach their potential in creative writing assignments and essays.
I tutor at the high school's Center for Student Success, where many students with learning differences or who just have questions on homework or need help with assignments come for tutoring help during and after school hours.
I tutor students from 9th to 12th grade on writing assignments, English and History essays, and Spanish.
