Craig Juricka, baritone, is an emerging vocal pedagogue and performer. Craig's approach to singing is routed in his cross-trained background. Comfortable in teaching all genres, Craig’s students range in age, beginners to pre-professionals. Using a pedagogy based on the philosophy and methods of the bel canto tradition, Mr. Juricka’s teaching is a mix of various methods such as the Alexander and Fitzmaurice techniques.

Mr. Juricka’s performance career has brought him to the opera and musical theatre stages around the nation. His favorite credits include Owen Hart (Dead Man Walking), Dr. Cajus (Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor) and Eisenstein (cover)(Die Fledermaus). In 2017, he was a finalist in the Classical Singer Competition (Emerging Professional Division) in Chicago, IL. He received first place for the New England Region of this same competition's preliminary rounds in both Musical Theatre and Classical. During the summer of 2018, he will be featured as a Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera.

In the spring of 2018, he made his debut with the Handel & Haydn Society and Boston Baroque, performing in Bach's B Minor Mass & Beethoven’s Fidelio.

I really have enjoyed my lessons with Craig so far! I always look forward to coming each week because he's so positive and has a smile on his face. He always finds different ways to explain things until it clicks. He will always sing along when I'm learning a new exercise so I don't feel silly. Each lesson is different which makes it engaging. We work on so many pieces which is not only an exciting thing but helpful to build my repertoire. I completely recommend taking lessons from Craig!

Craig is an absolutely incredible voice instructor. He is not only an incredibly talented singer himself, but he knows how to explain the intricacies of vocalization in a wonderfully effective manner. Even though I have only been studying with him for a short time, I feel like I have improved since I started taking lessons with him. That and his ability to foster a warm, encouraging, and comfortable space for learning makes him a truly excellent mentor.

I had an upcoming college audition and Craig worked with me to become prepared for it. He was very flexible on times, knowledgeable in his subject area, and just all around great to work with. I would recommend highly recommend him not only for musical theater but also for more classical types of singing.

Craig has been an amazing teacher! He has really taught me how to open up my range and has showed me many new techniques which I had never been exposed to and found helpful when working on challenging pieces. Craig was always ready to challenge me but made the environment comfortable enough where I felt like I could still ask for as much assistance as needed. Overall, working with Craig has been extremely valuable and I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, flexible, and talented teacher.

I have known Craig for a long time and can easily say he is one of the most talented vocalist I have ever worked with. I attended Capital University while he was there and he helped me prepare for my voice jury. I first came to him for help because my musical theater voice was very underdeveloped and shy. Craig seemed to know exactly where to take my voice and took it there. He taught me to sing more from me, rather than from a contracted mock up of what I thought singing was supposed to be. Eventually, my voice started to mellow out, level off in volume and sharpen up.
