Hi my name is Corey, I'm a computer science major and I am a huge nerd when it comes to math and other subjects of science. I have a strong passion for helping students just like myself excel in their academic goals! I began tutoring once I got back in school. At first it started off as a little side gig I didn't think much of. For me, it was a fun way to better understand material I already knew. It was after I got positive feedback from students when I realized tutoring is something I really enjoy and started taking far more seriously. As a tutor the most effective approach I've found is to first make sure my student has a firm grasp on the first principles involved and expand from there by taking a deeper dive into the abstract of the concept at hand. I always teach in general notation along with a visual basis, as this greatly helps my student better understand the concepts they're learning. From here I transition into individual and situational cases giving my student a chance to show me how well they're understanding the material. The goal I set for myself as a tutor is to be sure that my students understand every topic covered on the same level that I understand it myself. So far my approach has shown to be the best method in achieving this goal. A lot students I've worked with were falling behind in their classes and these are the students I like to focus on because they give me the opportunity to show that my approach to tutoring works with all of them quickly getting back up to speed. If you're interested in taking one of my lessons and think my method of learning is something that will work for you, contact me and let's get that A!

I have been working with Corey for a few weeks now, and I can safely say he is an excellent Java tutor. Not only does he show you the answers to your questions, but he shows you the reason that is the answer. He works with me until I fully understand a concept. Corey also clearly understands the structure or the "in's and out's" of Java very well; he has shown me things that I probably would not have been taught for another two semesters in college. If you have a question, ask Corey!
Honestly, Corey is the bomb.com. I take him as a Java programming tutor and let me tell yall. he has been able to dumb stuff down for me. the first teacher(my college professor) that I had for java wasn't the teaching type so Corey has really been essential with keeping me up and running during my second course of programming.
Corey went above and beyond during my 1st Java lesson. Very detailed and made sure I understood each step of the process. I’ll be using Corey for continued help in Java and highly recommend Corey.
