I started my musical journey in Elizabeth, CO when I was in 6th grade playing the trumpet. From that point on I knew that music was always going to be a huge part of my life. I come from a family of musicians and artists and have developed a strong appreciation for art as a fundamental part of our lives. Art is a great form of expression and communication, and in some ways a means of therapy.

After playing trumpet and then moving on to the French horn, my instructors could see my dedication and growth within the craft. They are the ones who really helped push me in the direction I went in and their encouragement and dedication impacted my life in such a positive way. I started studying jazz and playing in the high school jazz band. From there I wanted more, so I auditioned for a magnet high school in Denver, the Denver School of the Arts. After transferring to DSA I was able to form incredible bonds with teachers and educators.

Being so inspired by those who helped guide and teach me I decided that I wanted to teach and pass on the same care and guidance I received. I began teaching private lessons at the age of 16 and had many students from ages 6 to 45. It was there that I developed a passion for working with youth.

After High school I was accepted with scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. At Berklee I was able to study under some of the best musicians in the world and focus my studies on education and performance. It was during my time at Berklee that I had discovered after school music education opportunities in Boston, and went from volunteering to running a summer camp, and eventually becoming the Music Program director working with funding from an amazing group called the Music and Youth initiative. As Music director I taught youth age 8-18 in a variety of settings. I also played a major role in creating literature and teaching guides for the program. One on one instruction, group lessons, recording studio time, ensembles, and seasonal showcases were all ways to teach and guide our students.
