I am a professional musician and music teacher in Los Angeles. I've been writing, recording, and performing as a musician since I was 5. I play in a local rock/pop band as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and song writer. I have experience in classical, bluegrass/gypsy jazz, rock and pop musical stylings. My songwriting is roundly recognized as being top tier. I grew up taking classical violin lessons and playing in orchestras. I began singing and playing guitar when I was 12 and have been in bands ever since. I have sung in two a cappella groups, one of them in an award winning, collegiate group. I graduated from the the University of Oregon with a degree in Philosophy and took two years studying Vocal Music Performance at Portland State University before moving to Los Angeles. I also spent two years working as a paraeducator in the Portland Public School District, helping to instruct students with special needs. I've toured in rock and gypsy jazz bands and have been writing rock/pop music for many years. I can teach songwriting, violin, guitar, voice, and piano. Students will have fun and grow as musicians each week. To me, music is passion and I love to help people connect to that emotion as well as to improve their skills. I am highly observant and communicative.

Cooper is such a great teacher! He’s super encouraging. His energy and support pushes you to want to do better. I’m always talking about my lessons with anyone who will listen. I’m so happy my search for a guitar teacher led me to Cooper!
Cooper is patient and clear when teaching, which makes for a great experience learning how to play violin. He clearly takes my goals into account when deciding what we should work on next. I'm super happy I decided to work with Cooper and recommend him and happily recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher.
I can’t believe I stumbled onto a jewel like Cooper. I played the flute for 2 years while in grammar/junior high school. Wanted to learn the violin thereafter but it never happened until some 40 years later. Cooper has a wealth of knowledge that he imparts kindly to me. I’m so happy I found him!
