To teach is my highest honor. No matter what your age and background, everyone speaks a musical language that is at once personal and universal. We'll have fun learning about the rich history of drumming from recordings, building on techniques like musical memory, sight-reading, improvisation and composition and have fun playing together! (I'm also a pianist, bassist and guitarist and I love using them to help you play with an ensemble and learn different styles). A little about me: I'm a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music Jazz Drumming program and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. After 7 years of classical piano playing, I heard Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. This changed my life forever and set me out to learn more about Rock, Jazz, Funk, West African and Afro-Caribbean, Electronic and Eastern European Folk music.
