I'm a musician, DJ, and music producer living in Huntington Beach, performing around Long Beach and Los Angeles.  My strengths are jazz and latin jazz improvisation and harmony, reggae, afrobeat, dancehall, hip hop and r&b, but I can teach all styles.  I currently mainly play piano, sing and produce music on the computer (using Ableton, but I'm also experienced with Logic and Garage Band).  Earlier in my life I trained on guitar, trumpet, and bass as well.

Hi I've been teaching basic piano and music theory since 2005, and can teach rudimentary music reading as well.  I specialize in jazz and latin jazz styles of improvisation, as well as ear training, transcribing (or 'hear and play'), and using the keyboard to produce music on the computer, including making bass and drum tracks.  I tailor my approach to the student's level, interests, and musical tastes, so the books and exercises used will vary depending on those factors.
