My name is Cody and I am originally from Mt. Juliet, TN. I love playing my horn as well as my bodhran (Irish drum). I can't wait to meet and work with you!

My education background began as a Music Education student at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. I earned both a Bachelor of Science in Music Ed and Master of Music in Music Ed from there between 2006-2013. Beginning in 2011, I started teaching private horn lessons through the Community School for the Arts at APSU as well as freelance lessons. I have also been a brass/music tech with area high schools.

From there, I moved to Ireland for a year and earned a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology (why we make music!) from the University of Limerick (2013-2014). The degree program is housed in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. I studied the Irish drum, the bodhran, and how it's design has changed through the years since 1960.

In the fall of 2015, I began teaching full time with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, where I teach K-5 music everyday and love it! If you are a new horn player or high school student wanting to get ready for college auditions, I would love to teach you as well!

I've been playing the bodhran for nearly 10 years and would love to help get you started! I studied the instrument in Ireland both in lessons with Jimmy Higgins, played in sessions, and in group context at the Craiceann.
