Good at teaching pronunciation, such as the "rr." I like to relate Spanish vocabulary to English cognate words to cement meaning in student's memory, and I drill one grammar point at a time through conversation: e.g., if I'm teaching past tenses I ask the student what he or she did last week. I work with the student's motivation, meaning the reason they want lessons, say for travel--then i focus on the type of phrases they would need for that purpose.

I’ve been a Spanish translator for over 17 years in New York City at the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and at the Human Resources Administration (HRA). I’ve taught at Berlitz, and I’m currently a Spanish tutor with HeyTutor.com.
