    About Clarissa C.

Focus on the student is paramount for my lesson planning. Each student will learn differently through varied interests, pacing needs, and goals for their language development. Thus, my approach and materials will vary depending on the needs and experience of the student. I want her or him to want to learn. I teach a range of student types from young children looking to learn conversational French in an engaging format, to teens looking to polish their writing style in both English and French, to adults pursuing fluency for wok or leisure. I know my own hobbies (which include backpacking, hiking, travel, reading, and language learning) have influenced my linguistic journey, and my students' interests drive their own journey similarly. I currently hold three degrees in French and Learning theory: a Masters in Secondary English& Learning Theory, a Bachelor's in French & Comparative Literature, and an Associates in Early Childhood Learning & Development. This, combined with my extensive experience with the AP system and the time that I lived in and attended l'université in France saturate my pedagogical choices and methods in teaching both these subjects and the satellite subject areas such as diction, study skills, reading and writing. In addition to over ten years of experience teaching, I also have firsthand experience learning four foreign languages, giving me a real-world glimpse into the challenges and the joys of a new language. It is my love of the learning process, patience and passion for these subjects that are most efficacious in the tutoring process. bonne chance et à bientôt!
