I'm passionate about the arts and love to teach! I have over 19 years of performing arts experience, and 6 years of teaching experience (K-8th grade music, as well as dance and musical theatre camps for kids in my community). I received my Bachelor's degree in 2013, studying Theatre, Music, and Art.

What makes vocal lessons with me unique is that I have a background in theatre and dance as well. I am loving, creative, and meticulous. As a teacher, I will tailor my lessons around you, at your own level and pace, and will do my best to meet your individual needs as a student and performer. After learning what your goals are and what your vocal range and current skill level is--I will provide some musical repertoire for you to prepare and perform. You are also welcome to bring music that you'd like to learn. I can help you find your unique sound and convey emotion in your voice. And I offer an Audition Prep course as well!

About Clarissa A.

Clarissa has a passion for the arts, with over 19 years of performing experience and 6 years of teaching experience. She loved teaching music part-time for 4 years at a K-8th grade school in Montana, which involved directing the Christmas musicals each year.

As a spunky three-year-old, Clarissa would sing and dance to her dad's piano accompaniment at home. In her childhood, she would perform with her family at church functions. She had her first solo in a choir concert at school when she was 12. And since then, she has continued to perform solos at various athletic events, graduations, restaurants, and in competitions. She enjoys songwriting and recording covers of songs from a variety of music genres—including Pop, Christian, Adult Contemporary, R&B, Jazz, and Country.

Some of the neat opportunities Clarissa has had as a performer include: winning the top 10 in a national vocal competition in 2015, where she was featured as a soloist on artist Jenny Phillips’ studio album; winning 2nd place at the American Idol Experience competition at Disney World in 2014; playing “Eve” in the musical Children of Eden, at BYU-Idaho in 2010, and "Sister Mary Robert" in the musical Sister Act, through community theatre in Montana in 2018. She had a callback film audition in 2017 for the role of "Beth," in an adaptation of Little Women, but instead had the fun experience of playing the lead actress's double and being an extra. She submitted her original song, "Believe," written for the movie, in a competition the movie producers held--and made the top 10. Also, in 2012, she was able to be an extra in a music video starring Alex Boyé and Carmen Rassmussen--and in 2017, she was asked to be a musical theatre judge for a high school regional drama competition in Utah.
