Design and implement a two-track acting curriculum at a summer conservatory for pre-professional and professional young actors. Curriculum includes both a Core and an Advanced Acting track. Lead Voice, Speech and Movement progressions for actors that introduce students to the Linklater and Skinner voice and speech techniques. Movement progression includes Hatha Yoga, strength and conditioning, and basic contemporary Dance training emphasizing coordination rhythm, tempo and timing, in addition to group games and composition assignments. Movement progression also emphasizes the utilization of the core principals of the Alexander Technique for ease and alignment in posture and movement. Acting Studio incorporates Theatre Games, Improvisation, Clown, Meisner Technique, Text Analysis, Scene Study, Monologues, and the creation of Original Work. The Acting Studio curriculum emphasizes a technical foundation in speech, voice and text analysis, supplemented with games and exercises that encourage the actor to be active, to play, be present, truthful, receptive and responsive to his/her partners. In addition to Acting Instruction, give a weekly class on Text Analysis for actors focused on the work of current American playwrights with an emphasis on diverse voices in the current American Theatre. Text Analysis classes emphasize the close reading of a text with a focus on language, given circumstances, character, objective and action. Direct and stage a live Showcase each session at The Pasadena Playhouse. Provide a grade and a written evaluation of each student’s work and progress at the end of each session. Acting Instructor

Designed and implemented the curriculum for two one-week theater intensives for middle school and high school aged students. Classes were split according to year level and taught separately in two-hour blocks. Introduced basic acting, improvisation and performance techniques and guided students through the process of writing and devising work. Directed and staged the students’ final pieces and facilitated a collaborative, student lead rehearsal process. As acting instructor, lead a sequence of movement based theater and improvisation games designed to build ensemble, increase awareness, receptivity, reactivity and listening skills. Introduced basic scene writing and scene work through improvisation exercises in order to free creative impulses while simultaneously grounding students in the foundational elements of a scene. Final show case culminated in the presentation of original one-act plays inspired by a literary source including, short stories, essays, poetry, mythology, or folktales. Year Level: 6th-12th Grade
Stress Management and Mindfulness

Designed and implemented an introductory level meditation and movement course that provided students with hands on tools for managing stress. Introduced the basic foundations of Mindfulness meditation in both theory and practice through texts, discussion and practice. Taught basic to intermediate level yoga postures and alignment principals and lead students in an active yoga asana flow. Introduced meditation techniques that encouraged students to notice their habitual responses to stress and stimuli and to then develop positive skills for coping with stress and anxiety, i.e.: focus, concentration, felt awareness of body and breath. Planned and implemented course curriculum each semester, lead class discussions, introduced source material (texts, articles), met and advised students in small groups and on an individual basis. Organized and lead a master class each semester on Meditation and Stress Management for the faculty and staff of Fordham University. Year Level: 1st and 2nd Year Undergraduates
