Bass Guitar with Ciaran F.

My name is Ciaran, I'm an upright and electric bassist for the U.S. Army and play in various groups around the Portland area. I've competed nationally in Jazz combo and Big Band, and have experience in many other genres including rock, funk and classical. Lessons will begin with basic technique then we will move on to groove, time, theory and improvisation. I believe in teaching around emulation of the bass players that came before to build a strong foundation from which you can make the instrument your own, and who doesn't want to be able to play like their idols? The bass is a wonderful instrument and learning it will be a fun and immensely rewarding experience. I look forward to passing on everything I know!
