    About Chuck V.

Music is an expression of life. And life is pretty fun. So if you're not having fun with music something is wrong. I graduated from Berklee College of Music and have been loving life as a professional performer and teacher for over 10 years. I've toured and recorded with many groups playing jazz, rock and pop. These experiences provide me the knowledge to prepare you for anything you want to do with music, be it playing around the world or jamming with your friends in the garage. As long music is fun, you're doing it right! And I guarantee we will have a lot of fun in our lessons. *** Lesson Details *** The great thing about private lessons is that we focus specifically on what you want to do with music. We move at your pace and work towards the goals that you want to reach. At the same time, I'll show you the techniques and explain the concepts so you can play with your favorite songs, make up drum parts and create your own sound. The books and hand written material that I use I created or got from Berklee. They are structured to force creativity. It's not a "work through book one then move on to book two" type of thing. The material is meant to be used in countless ways. You only reach the end when you run out of creative ways to use it. (For the record, I still use this stuff...it's that awesome!) So, if you've never touched drumsticks or have been playing for years and are looking to expand and challenge yourself, I would love to show you a few things. I'm sure after a few lessons you'll be amazed that you can do what you never thought possible! *** Studio Equipment *** At home I use Roland V-Drums to teach. I have a full home recording studio set up with Logic Pro 9, drum plug-ins, guitars, etc. *** Travel Equipment *** I provide staff paper and years of experience. I expect the student to provide sticks and a functional drum set, or at least a drum pad. That's all you need to get started. Well that and a love of music! *** Specialties *** First and foremost, I focus on being RELAXED when you play. This is the most important part of everything you do. I teach through rock, pop, and jazz. I frequently do studio sessions and perform live and will happily show you how to approach these situations. Reading is a big part of doing studio work and I'll explain how to read and show you that it's not nearly as difficult as people make it out to be. Instruments: Drums Beginning Guitar Harmony Time
