I believe that enjoyment of music is the basis for technique, fluency, and expression. By encouraging a student to love and connect with music, it is possible to build a foundation for artistry. All students of all ages should be making music every lesson, from the very first lesson. Music they can enjoy and understand, expanding their knowledge and abilities. I focus on creating individual curricula from a wide variety of repertoire, applied theory, ear training, and improvisation as powerful approaches to developing fluency.
Students are actively encouraged to perform, experience ensemble and collaborative playing, participate in exams, and explore all areas of music making with the piano.
