I currently work as a Sylvan instructor in Ann Arbor, Michigan’s institute, which has given me a strong foundation on how impactful individual tutoring sessions can be for reading, writing, mathematics, ACT/SAT prep, etc. in children that are struggling a bit (ages 6-16). I also am teaching Chinese kids online at VIPKid with ESL sessions. I student taught for 8th grade classes at Northwest School near Jackson, Michigan throughout 2019/2020, and this mainly focused on going through a full ongoing novel discussion (City of Ember) while also dealing with Manifest Destiny and the Oregon Trail, so I was able to combine historical and literary subjects while switching curriculum. I tutored college students in writing a bit as well at Jackson College throughout 2013/2014, and I have volunteered as a guidance instructor at Kumon in 2018.

I graduated from Baker College’s 5 year education program with a double major in English and Social Studies for secondary students in 2020. I am certified and have passed both MTTC examinations as well. I currently work at Sylvan strengthening my skills with one-on-one tutoring settings (virtual and in-person).
