Violin with Christopher R.

I am a professional violinist with over 35 years orchestral experience. I have a Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Iowa and have done post graduate work at the University of Houston. I have been teaching privately since 1994. My teaching is Suzuki based while incorporating many or my own ideas. I am particularly good with beginners I but welcome all ages and can guide you successfully to a strong intermediate level. I currently reside in Shreveport Louisiana, but am planning to relocate shortly, to the west valley near Phoenix, AZ. In my teaching I provide a strong technical background, based largely on the teachings of the great violin pedagogue, Ivan Galamian. I make use of the skills I learned in Suzuki workshops as well, with emphasis on reading music and developing listening skills. I stress primarily, the joy of learning and loving the music you create with your instrument.
