    About Christopher P.

My name is Christopher Previte, an Associate Professor of Digital Media Design. I fell in love with teaching over twenty years ago and truly enjoy the level of joy and infectious energy I feel from helping to create a collaborative and creative space where learning, progress, and hard work take place. I have taught and developed many courses including Intro to the Adobe Creative Suite; Digital Illustration and Vector Graphics; Digital Image Creation; Data Visualization; UX and Web Design; Digital Storytelling; and Visual Literacy. I earned my BFA in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and later my MFA in Graphic Design from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Additionally, I am an artist, graphic designer, writer, and photographer who has enjoyed working creatively for over thirty years. In that time, I have created content and solutions in the areas of Illustration; Identity & Branding; Print & Web Design; Photography; and Event Media for such clients as Boston’s World Trade Center & Seaport Hotel; Fidelity Investments; The Harvard Lampoon; Nancy Kerrigan; Elton John & Stevie Wonder; Sail Boston; Wilson Farm; and numerous small businesses. My current practice explores themes of loss, responsibility, and impermanence through storytelling. I believe that art and design should be adaptable and nimble and that the best solutions are platform agnostic. My incredible wife, amazing daughter, two fuzzy dogs, and I live just north of Boston and enjoy traveling to new places, relaxing with family and friends, and cooking oodles of yummy food. Personally, I am a monster comic book geek and listen to an eclectic variety of music. I also play a pretty bad harmonica. Together, we will tackle the world of design, explore some new concepts, and develop new skill sets. Remember, you’re not in this alone. It’s gonna be a great time.
