My name is Christopher Palmer and I am a graduate from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's in Film Scoring. I have been playing trombone since 2001 and have been composing and arranging music since my early high school years. I have had the privilege of playing with and writing for many different artists and ensembles with genres from classical and jazz to funk and salsa. In addition to on my own, I currently teach at the Mind Builders School in The Bronx, with classes including Brass, Music Ensemble, and Music Theory. In October 2012 I began teaching trombone/brass and music theory at the King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham MA to students grades 4-12. Some of my students have entered into competitions and won awards/chairs due to their efforts and understanding of the techniques and skills I have taught them. There are few feelings as rewarding as hearing one's student develop and progress through their musical journey. Now that I live in New York I wish to continue to share my knowledge and passion with any student who hungers for music!

Chris was giving my child trombone lessons when we go to talking about some song lyrics I had written. Just for fun and because he LOVES composing music Chris eagerly took up my challenge to put music to the words. Now, instead of a bunch of verses I have a song and Chris deserves all the credit.

Chris was a terrific instructor in all respects. Assisted by his composition skills, he created an effective lesson plan that took me through a clear set of steps that allowed me to get where I wanted to go with this set of lessons. And he did so with enthusiasm. Highly recommended.

Chris was a truly great instructor and really helped me improve on the trombone, tuba, and euphonium. Not only was Chris a great teacher, but his lessons were a lot of fun. The lessons were key in getting me to the musician I am today. Chris gave me challenging music to play, but also gave fun music, such as movie themes. I highly recommend getting lessons from Chris, he is fun to play with and to learn from.
