Piano with Christopher M.

Christopher is an avid chamber musician, soloist, accompanist and teacher. He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston under the tutelage of Timothy Hester and graduated Summa Cum Laude. While there, he was recipient of numerous scholarships including the Woodlands Pavilion Partners scholarship, Cypress Creek FACE scholarship, and Ruth G. Burr endowment. He was also the resident pianist for all of the University of Houston bands. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Chris performed with the Baytown Symphony Orchestra along with multiple community and high school ensembles in and around the Houston area. Christopher recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas, studying with Anton Nel. While there, he was awarded two state grants and the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Piano Scholarship. He also won the University of Texas at Austin Piano Concerto Competition, performing Liszt’s Totentanz with the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra. Chris is an avid educator and performer, performing in multiple schools around the greater Houston and Austin area, and teaching students at both the Paula Wong Piano Academy and The University of Texas at Austin with a Teaching Assistantship.
