- Teaching since:
I am a professional percussion instructor and instrumental music educator. I graduated Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor of Science in Instrumental Music Education.
My lesson plans are specifically designed to meet the needs of each individual student. I teach percussion students of all different ages and experience levels. I have studied percussion for over 15 years with 5 of those years at the collegiate level. My percussion teaching includes snare drum, mallet instruments, drum set, and hand drumming.
Currently I teach K-4th grade elementary music, 5th and 6th grade band and am also the Percussion Instructor of the 7th and 8th grade band as well as the Assistant Director and Percussion Instructor of the Miller Rustler Regiment in Miller, South Dakota. I have 28 different percussion students from 5-12 grade who take individual lessons with me.
I am a firm believer that every musician needs to begin with good technique and theory. In our lessons we will learn how to read music, different playing techniques for each instrument, and will also focus on getting you to the next level in your musical endeavors.
Teaching percussion instruments is my passion and together we will build your reading and playing confidence. I look forward to helping you unlock your greatest musical potential! I hope to see you soon!
