In my many years of teaching and being taught I have realized that the best teachers are those who really focus on the needs of the student and help them realize their passion for playing music. This usually involves a lesson plan which combines both technical aspects and working on songs, so that the student is both working and having fun at the same time. A little about me: I am a professional bassist, guitarist and producer working out of Brooklyn. Since getting a Batchelor's degree in Jazz Studies from NYU, I have performed in festivals and concert halls all over the world. Notably, I have toured extensively with Blue Note-Capital recording artist Kandace Springs, with whom I opened for Daryl Hall & John Oats at Madison Square Garden and dozens of other arenas. *** Specialties *** I can teach from beginner to intermediate on guitar, and beginner to advanced on bass guitar and upright bass in the styles of Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop etc. I also have experience in other subjects such as Production, Composition, Music Theory.

I've taken bass lessons from Chris for about a year. He's a very skilled musician and is also very good at communicating in a way that makes concepts easier to understand. He has a laid back personality that makes lessons enjoyable but he still demands effort. Overall, I would recommend taking lessons from Chris
I have no musical background, but I thought it would be fun to learn the guitar as an adult (I'm 31). A friend recommended that I take lessons from Chris; there's no question that Chris was qualified. Overly qualified! But it's not Chris' talent that makes him an effective, influential teacher. Rather, it's his calm demeanor and clear vision of how best to teach the basics and mechanics. It's be a blast learning from Chris. Our weekly lesson is always a highlight for me! He's as great as they get.
I’ve done both in-home & remote lessons with Chris. Chris is a really great teacher, with a deep knowledge of music theory and technique, but also the ability to adjust that to whatever level you’re coming in at. I was a near complete beginner with a lot of anxiety about playing in front of other people when we started and Chris was able to work through that with me with a lot of humor and kindness. His agenda is to work with his students on songs they are interested in learning, and along the way weave in lessons on how notes and chords work, which I’ve really enjoyed. He also teaches bass guitar to my teenage daughter, who really enjoys her lessons and has improved greatly since they began. I highly recommend Chris.
