A labor union representing professional musicians in the United States and Canada. Founding in 1896 as the successor to the "National League of Musicians," the AFM is the largest organization in the world representing the interests of professional musicians. 

I joined the San Antonio Symphony in 2017 as a section second violinist. From September 2019 I became the Assistant Concertmaster.

I am currently offering violin lessons for anyone in any level! I want to share the joy of playing violin with students, whether it's your first go at it or if you're interested in honing skill sets or if you're working towards an audition or recital. 

For beginners: We will start with the proper positions of how to hold the violin and bow. From here, we will expand into solidifying note reading, and note association with the violin. Depending on progress, I will then introduce short pieces.

For those who do not know how to read any music, I offer theory as well. 

For intermediate: We will review proper violin and bow hold, go over scales, arpeggios and begin different violin positions and vibrato! Very exciting. I will discuss how best to practise, focus is essential for efficiency. We will cover a variety of short works.

For advanced players: Depending on your goals, this is flexible. Overall, an overview of correct technique, working on the expression of musical ideas, whilst exploring a variety of repertoire. If you are preparing for auditions, orchestral or for school or you need someone to practise for, I can offer my experience and knowledge.

Christine Wang joined the San Antonio Symphony for the 2017-2018 season after completing her M.M. at Rice University with Ms. Kathleen Winkler. Prior to this, she gained her B.M. under the tutelage of Professor Oleh Krsya at Eastman School of Music.

Christine is a very patient and encouraging teacher. She did a great job of explaining and demonstrating everything. It's a great experience learning with Christine.

Ms. Wang is my colleague at the San Antonio Symphony. Not only is she a fantastic violinist, she is also a lovely person! Ms. Wang is the type of violinist who truly understands what she is doing and how, and this translates to her excellent abilities as a teacher. Her attention to detail is meticulous; she always has a very clear idea of what she is looking for in a particular passage, and a plan of action for making that happen, whether it's with a good fingering, bowing, or mental preparation. I have no doubt that she can help you to excel no matter what your current level is.
