Hello! I'm a retired French teacher who has a passion for helping students. I studied French in high school and have had a lifelong love affair with the language. I taught French at a junior high school in California before retiring last year, and I miss my students, some of whom are my friends on Facebook. I have visited France every summer for the past 10 years, exchanging my home with a French family, which allows me to be fully immersed in the language. As a non-native speaker, I am sympathetic to the challenges you face in learning the language, as I have faced those challenges myself. I will guide you through the faux amis (false cognates) and similarities and differences between French and English grammar to make the lessons fun and interesting. In addition to French, I also speak some Cantonese. I love to travel, listen to music, and watch movies (especially French movies). I also like hiking, biking, swimming and yoga.
