I TEACH KIDS TO BE CONFIDENT, COMPASSIONATE, and CREATIVE <3
My name is Christine A., and I am an experienced Drama Teacher and performer in the Bay Area. I've been teaching for over 10 years now, and am currently an artist in residence with SF Arts Education, as well as being the drama teacher at Vallecito Elementary in San Rafael. I also run my own week long Creative Storytelling Camps in San Francisco, which results in an original performance in front of an audience of family and friends.
My specialty is creating engaging, empowering arts curriculum with a focus on storytelling, theatre, and creative expression for students of all ages and backgrounds. I offer group classes, as well as one on one acting coaching with theatre games and techniques. I am also available to help kids write their own plays and monologues.
I'm a performer myself, and I produce, direct, and act in my Theater troupe which puts on a play about motherhood I co-wrote called "Stretchmarks." I love sharing my talents and passion for the dramatic arts with others. It is the most wonderful thing to be able to educate from the heart. Helping kids blossom into creative, imaginative, expressive, compassionate, focused, awesome performers and human being is what it's all about!
*** Lesson Details ***
Depending on the group dynamic or the student's individual needs, I tailor my classes to what I feel works best. I will always do body and voice warm ups, theatre games that instill fun with a sense of focus and discipline. I have monologues and scripts I can supply or suggest and am always very fair, positive, and constructive with my feedback. My style is pleasant, nurturing, high-energy, and effective. I create an atmosphere of safe, kind, positivity, allowing each student the freedom of expression in their own unique style. Group classes are always stressing the aspects of community and collaboration.
*** Travel Equipment ***

The Actors Studio was formed in 1947 in New York City to provide a place where professional actors could work together between jobs, or during long runs to continue to develop their craft and to experiment with new forms in creative theatre work. In 1967 the Actors Studio opened its only branch in West Hollywood, California. Membership provides a place for theatre artists to advance their craft and talents. For more than sixty years The Actors Studio has lived a very rich artistic existence and will endure as long as talent needs a home.
