    About Christina G.

I have been playing the piano since I was three and have over ten years teaching experience with students of all ages. Whether you've never had a piano lesson in your life, want to get back into it, or are advanced and need help preparing for auditions or competitions, I would love to help you set and achieve your goals. My goal for students is that they develop a strong technical foundation, good note-reading skills, musicality and internal rhythm right from the start. I have been fortunate enough to have studied with some of the finest music teachers in the world, and am comfortable teaching students at any stage in their musical development. Lessons will cover note reading, sight reading, scales and technique, music theory, as well as learning piano repertoire of varying styles and composing original works. ***Home Studio Equipment*** Steinway 5' 10" Model O grand piano, chair for parent or guardian who wishes to observe. ***Travel Equipment*** Student should have either a piano or keyboard with weighted keys. ***Skype Equipment*** Computer with high-speed internet. Student should have either a piano or keyboard with weighted keys. ***Students with Special Needs*** I have experience working with students with special needs. Please contact me for any inquiries. My only requirement is that a parent, legal guardian, or caretaker be present during the lesson. ***Practice Guidance and Expectations*** -Regular attendance is very important to ensure success. -In order to progress satisfactorily, daily quality practice is necessary and required. Amount of daily practice depends on student's age, level and goals. -Detailed assignments for each piece will be written weekly in student’s notebook. To help your child develop self-discipline and good practice habits, schedule a regular time for practice each day. The practice session can be done all at once or divided into two or more sessions. Younger children especially need help with their practicing. -The practice environment should be treated as a studying place free from interruptions (family, friends, TV, phone, tablet, computer, etc.). Parental support and cooperation is a must for a child's musical growth. ***Parental Expectations*** - Encourage progress! Many small steps throughout the year yield great results. -Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend lessons at any time, especially for students under the age of 7. -Please don’t hesitate to communicate with me any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s progress. ***More about me*** Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
