    About Christina A.

Students can expect to see weekly improvent in their technique and musicianship. I work with students to find vocal freedom and a balanced production. In my personal experience, the most effective teaching guides have been adaptable to their student’s learning needs. Lessons are tailored to the individual’s vocal development and can focus on ear-training, theory, basic piano skills, breath, alignment, diction, expression, and more. I believe that a solid technical foundation will allow the student to traverse any genre of musical expression. The goal in my instruction is to develop a well-rounded musician and performing artist, equally at ease on stage or at home. I am an active musician in the Twin Cities, with interests ranging from Bluegrass to Opera Theatre. In 2012, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Colorado, where I performed the roles of Tytania in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mrs. Anderson in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, and more. In 2017, I received my Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Minnesota. I have appeared professionally as Javotte in Manon with Opera Classica Europa during the summer of 2012. During the summer of 2016, I performed the role of Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff with La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy and Santarchangelo, Italy. I have taught music in group settings since 2013, where I led an introduction to music workshop for adults with developmental disabilities through To The Rescue in Parker, Colorado. As part of a summer workshop program in 2015, I directed opera scenes, coached singers, and led musical rehearsals for students of Greenwood Music Studio. Some of the most common styles that I teach are Folk, Bluegrass, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and Classical/Opera. I look forward to meeting you and guiding you along in your musical pursuits!
