Private Piano Lessons

I like to watch a child's face light up when they learn something; I make it fun and bring incentives (stickers, snacks, treats, lil rewards for a job well done). I make sure to ask if they've practiced (I ask for 15+min a day). I always start with the hand position and strong posture, and then start with scales to warm fingers up. I like to work on 1-2 songs per week and then as the student progresses add more challenges. I also incorporate youtube or fun art history or interesting "stories behind the songs" too if possible. (For instance, for homework, ask your parent if you may go online and view a picture or a video of a full orchestra, or watch a waltz).

I started playing piano when I was about 9yo. I played for vocalists in college too. I play for churches and I love to teach beginners. I love my dogs and am active outside and in the gym. I am a foodie, I love movies and soundtracks, and am an eclectic musical lover.
