Learn Biology and Chemistry on a deeper level, from a college instructor

I have learned from 6+ years of both teaching and tutoring science that no two students learn science the same way. I want to find out the way that you learn best, whether it's catching you up on the last three years of classes, drilling problem sets to make sure you can practically use your knowledge, or exploring the subject through discussion. Everyone can master Biology and Chemistry if they can find the right approach!

    About Christian P.

I am a professional tutor fresh out of a Master's in Evolutionary Biology. Looking back at 6 years of teaching, whether instructing university courses or private tutoring, it's clear to me that teaching was always the best part of my life and was always going to pull me away from research. I currently tutor all Science courses with a focus on Biology and Chemistry, from 6th grade to the graduate level. I enjoy meeting students at their current level of enthusiasm; just because I have a passion for natural science doesn't mean that you have to feel the same way for us to do well! Finding your groove and finally finding a subject approachable is often the product of listening and paying attention instead of passionate and grueling labor. Maybe the most common mistake that science and math teachers make (and the one I am most committed to fixing) is teaching as if the subject should come naturally to everyone. Most people who are naturally talented at something just don't get what it's like to be confused about a "basic" concept or think that not immediately understanding is a failure. I want you to know that as long as you're willing to ask questions and admit when something makes no sense, I will be happy to continue breaking a concept down without making you feel like you're failing. I'm looking forward to helping you feel the way you want to about science!
