Poker lessons. English classes. Excel & Programming classes. Christian's background: Chris is a native speaker of English with years of teaching experience. He has taught around the world in actual classrooms and online. In his teens and early 20s, Chris was a professional poker player. He spent summers in South Florida playing at Indian reservations in his late teens, and funded months of traveling around Europe playing poker in his 20s. Chris was actually on TV in a European poker tournament. Chris was exempt from finishing high school after leading the state in standardized English test scores, receiving his diploma while working at a gym in the Greater New York City area. Chris has been teaching and coaching since becoming a Certified Personal Trainer at the age of 19, and obtained professional certifications through NASM and WITS, which required completing courses in the areas of nutrition and corrective exercise. Chris continues to work in global wellness and nutrition. Chris started his first wellness company in January 2014 after voluntarily leaving a publicly traded healthcare company and deciding to return to his passion of creating wellness through proper diagnoses and nutrition. Chris graduated from a top business school in the United States, and his experience thus far is teaching Excel modeling, programming, English, and various other subjects -- even poker here on TakeLessons. Chris attended UGA - Athens, then transferred to one of the most prestigious business schools in the United States, where he obtained a degree in Economic Consulting. Chris studied programming in college too, as he was originally pursuing a double major in computer science. Chris received an A+ as a unique mark of excellence in programming 1, an A in programming 2, and another A+ as a unique mark of excellence in Computers in Business at IU Bloomington. Chris graduated during a recession, and while he was a member of the highly elite Undergraduate Investment Banking Network (Seminar), he decided to accept an early exploding offer with a healthcare company, whom recruited Chris into a two-year international leadership program from business school. Chris then left voluntarily after successfully graduating the program and completing his final automatic promotion as a supervisor. While attending business school, Chris gained his first academic teaching experience, helping teach within the classrooms of two Excel classes and one Access database class as an in-class tutor. Chris has since taught professional English to clients from global organisations and various publicly traded companies. Chris has a 170-hour TEFL & TESOL certification from ITA (International TEFL Academy). Chris has tremendous experience in financial modeling and Excel. He has taught classes in modeling, advanced Excel, SQL, and web programming (Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript). Chris has worked at various Fortune 500 companies and PE firms. A bit about Chris as an individual: Chris is conversational in Portuguese and has very basic knowledge of Chinese (common phrases, numbers, dates, etc.). Chris is technically dual citizen Italian from Right of Blood citizenship since his grandparents never forfeited their Italian citizenship when they arrived in the United States from Sicily shortly before the start of World War II. Chris' genetics are predominantly French and Italian with some Irish, and according to his French grandmother, Puhl, she may have some Welsh blood too. Chris is currently a resident of Hawaii, and resides in East Asia. Chris was temporarily disabled after suffering knife wounds in the neck and liver by a Native American / Hispanic gang during a phone robbery while on vacation celebrating his birthday in 2017, and has just recently recovered and is capable of working in longer intervals again. Chris enjoys traveling, only drives motorcycles for efficiency reasons, and likes to surf. Chris has never worked for, nor with, any government organisation, including militaries.
