Music Theory with Christian F.

Hello! My name is Christian Fox, I am a Drummer, guitarist, producer, and projectionist from New York City. I graduated in 2018 with a BFA from The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, specifically in Drum Set studies. My students can primarily expect to develop strong rhythmic sensibilities. Rhythm is a crucial aspect of any instrumental development, and is the key to going from playing scales to mastering improvisation, or anywhere in between! Wherever you are in your musical journey, advancing your rhythmic abilities will open many doors in your playing. Students will also feel confident in their understanding of music theory and analysis. I take a step by step approach to building the foundations of theory as well as ear training, and students will leave being able to identify what they are hearing in musical terms and vocabulary, forming the connection between the ears and the mind, and ultimately the body. I know all of the biggest challenges any aspiring musician will have to face, and they have taken me across the country to many teachers and methodologies throughout my lifetime. My personal journey is far from over, but nonetheless I can offer many insights and provide all that you will need to grow. I look forward to beginning our journey together!
