About Chris S.
Hi there! My name is Chris and I've been playing music my entire life and I believe that with the right attitude and environment anyone can achieve musical greatness!
I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.
My specializations in music include: classical piano, electric guitar rock and heavy metal, and flamenco guitar.
*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.
New material is given each week and is graded from beginner to advanced, and will be practiced each week to ensure we are building on top of a strong base.
Music theory is applied as it pertains to your current assignment.
Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, improvisation, or music analysis.
We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*
By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals! each lesson will be recorded slowly and with any details we covered in class.
*** Travel Equipment ***
Students should have their own guitar/piano/keyboard etc. Guitar students should also have a music stand and tuner to keep at home. I will have picks, spare tuner, music, and handouts.
*** Specialties ***
I primarily specialize in classical piano in styles such as Muzio Clementi and Frederic Chopin. I also play Bach and various Spanish classical guitar pieces. I have also extensively studied electric guitar in Blues such ZZ Top, Metal such as Metallica, and rock such as Led Zeppelin.
My current passion is Flamenco guitar, which is a style from southern Spain. check out Vicente Amigo, Juan Martin, Moraito, or Diego Del Moron for great examples from the masters.

Chris is awesome. So unbelievably talented. He is encouraging and patient and is the perfect teacher for this mom of 2 college boys. Borrowed my youngest son's first acoustic guitar and am slowly learning and loving it. Sore fingertips and all.

Chris was very prompt, polite, and enthusiastic!

Truly alot better than previous instructors trying to rush through time instructing you on sounds then the basic theory of music. Chris made it simple enough, even for a sixty year old adult to understand. Day one of my first class. Thank you.

My daughter absolutely loved it!!

My son had a great experience and learned a lot in the first lesson.

Tyler enjoyed his first lesson and looks forward to more

Very patient and knowledge of music. I knew nothing about bass guitar and he took his time to explain all the notes.

This is a review after the first class! It was just such a good experience for my son he wanted Chris to stay a little longer. At first I was a little worry my son would be distracted and not like the class (he is only 5 and half!) but Chris made it look so fun and easy, he had a blast. He woke up the next day ready to practice. Fingers crossed, hopefully he keeps that motivation!

The first lesson was great. Chris worked with all three of my children and was patient, fun and still able to promote good foundations.

Chris is an amazing teacher! I’m excited to play guitar again!

Chris is very patient with me, a beginning student of the ukulele. Chris himself is a very talented and knowledgeable individual, and he plays a number of instruments. I would highly recommend Chris as a teacher.

My daughter had her first lesson yesterday. Chris was very good at explaining and seems to really like teaching. My daughter enjoyed it and wants to continue.

Obviously very talented guitar play- but I prefer a teacher who knows traditional Hawaiian Ukelele. He left me with a lot to practice which is great - but I would prefer a teacher who knows the Uke better.

My daughter Lilli has been taking lessons from Chris for almost a year now and he is an amazing teacher. There are times when Lilli isn't paying attention or not responding to Chris and he has amazing patience with her. I couldn't have found a better Ukulele teacher anywhere else.

Special thanks to a wonderful and talented teacher, Chris, on National Teacher's day!!

Chris is a great instructor! He is a very skilled musician and most importantly, a very skilled teacher. I chose him as my instructor because of his background in many different instruments and musical styles.

Chris is a delightful musician and a gifted, knowledgeable teacher. Every lesson is fun, structured, individualized, enriched with music theory and history, and inspires disciplined practice at home. I absolutely love it!

Chris brings a great attitude to every lesson and sometimes I even catch my son having a great time!

Chris made the lesson a lot of fun for my 7 year old daughter. He's the 3rd instructor we have tried and is by far the best!

Chris is excellent with kids and is very knowledgeable about teaching guitar.

Chris was professional. He was able to ascertain the types of music my daughter likes. He also praised her for her efforts. Thank you Chris for taking the time with my daughter to help her fulfill one of her goals.

Wonderful lesson! Great teacher.

Chris is great with kids. He makes it fun. My son will definitely enjoy going to his lessons.

Really patient and excellent teacher. My teenager looks forward to her lessons with him. DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY.

My Grandmother, a PHD in classical music, began teaching me at age 5 and encouraged me to attend college for music. Since then I have had wonderful instructors in classical piano, rock/heavy metal electric guitar, and a great flamenco teacher from Spain. I have been teaching for over 10 years and have had great success with students of all kinds. each person learns differently and I have been great at adapting to fit each student's needs.
