I am a college graduate and a true lover of language and world cultures. I have studied Spanish traditionally and independently for many years and now work as an interpreter and translator. In 2012, I enrolled into a cultural exchange program in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. There, I solidified my Spanish skills over the four months that I stayed there through my host family and matriculation at two local universities, as well as working at a local NGO.When tutoring students I employ various techniques to make the subject matter more relatable to the student, enabling them to learn without a monotonous experience. For example, through music and film students are able to see how certain phrases in different contexts are used all while being entertained. This method makes the vocabulary more relevant and therefore easier to retain. Whether you need help with pronunciation, grammar, verb conjugations, cultural clarifications or just need to improve conversation, we will work together until your needs are met.
