    About Chris J.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance, and I am currently in classes towards my Masters of Music Education. With over 10 years of private teaching under my belt, I'm prepared to teach students of all kinds and ages. At my studio I have 2 drum sets set up for teacher and student, headphones for play along, a library of books and music, and recording capabilities. I have an electric bass that I like to use to play along with students to give them the feel of playing with another non-drummer musician. Students can learn their favorite music, or get help with music for school or other ensembles they're a part of. I absolutely do NOT favor one style over the other. I simply teach music and approach it all with the same level of passion. Rock, jazz, Funk, Afro-Cuban, rudimental snare, metal... it's all good with me. Some previous students have gone on to pass college auditions and study music. ALL previous students have had a great time learning music in a fun environment with a caring, passionate, and knowledgeable teacher. *** Studio Equipment *** 2 drumsets for student and teacher Pro Tools recording on 2013 mac computer Infinite music library with Spotify Library of books and drum DVDs Practice pad station with 2 pads and mirrors Video Recording for home reference Field drum for rudimental studies Concert drum for orchestral studies Electric bass Drum machine for playalong *** Travel Equipment *** I expect my students to have a drumset and everything they need to practice. eg drums, sticks, pad, music etc. *** Specialties *** Technique - Moeller, Free Stroke, hands and feet Jazz drums Rock drums Rudimental Snare Drumming Recording Techniques Latin drumset applications Hand drums Style and Analysis of favorite drummers Drum Tuning Independence Coordination Chart Reading and Interpretation Theater drumming
