I graduated with honors from The Percussion Institute Of Technology (P.I.T.) at Musicians Institute in 1988. Since then I have recorded and toured around the world with such artists as, Gary Allan, Delaney Bramlett, Greg London and the Rich Harper Band to name a few. I bring a high level of experience to my students with a focus on both performance and learning to read drum music and charts. I believe on keeping music fun and tailor my lessons to accommodate exactly what each student is trying to achieve. *** Lesson Details *** My philosophy is to keep music fun. I have a laid back style of teaching but I expect my students to practice and bring their "A" game to every lesson. I try to always keep students engaged, challenged and motivated depending on their specific goals. After 6 months with me you can expect to know how to read drum music and have a grasp of playing various beats on the drum kit. I also talk about playing musically with other musicians and how to get gigs and keep those gigs with your talent and positive attitude towards those that you will work with. *** Studio Equipment *** The studio lessons in the teacher's home are taught in the finished garage with a complete studio, sound room, and a drum set. Seating is available and room is air conditioned. Parking is on the street. Tapp's: The studio includes small private rehearsal rooms with a room that includes 2 electronic drum sets. *** Travel Equipment *** For lessons at their house I require them to have a drum set there that we can use. *** Specialties *** I specialize in all areas and styles of drumming. I also teach recording techniques on a Pro Tools recording system.
