English (ESL) with Chloë D.

Hello! My name is Chloë, I am a 24yr old Canadian! I am a native English speaker, who has been reading and writing in English my entire life. I have now moved on to major in English at the Univeristy of Ottawa - I have a passion for travel and after years of travelling have realized how essential the English language is internationally. I am very lucky to have been born in an English speaking country and I hope to be able to help you in anyway I can! Along with my own knowledge of English I was raised by my Mother who is a teacher. Over the years I have been exposed to various teaching methods, difficulties, and use of technology within the classroom. Thus allowing me to gain the understanding that each individual learns differently, and how to adapt my teaching methods to best suit audio, visual, and tactile learners. Also having access to resources straight out of the Ontario Teaching curriculum helps measure the level your at as well as your improvement! As for ESL students, I have more recently started working with a Syrian immigrant family over the past two years. Working with the parents (29, 35) and their children (4,6,10) who have been in Canada now for 2 years. Arriving with no English skills, the children are now almost completely fluent and the parents are at a point where they are able to maintain conversations face to face as well and communicate effectively in their writing!
