Hi, I am international soloist and pedagogue, soloist with orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and winner of major and top prizes at numerous prestigious international violin competitions including the Concours Musical International Reine Elisabeth de Belgique (Brussels, Belgium), Concourse International de Montréal (Canada), Premio Paganini International Violin Competition (Genoa, Italy), and International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (USA). I love teaching all levels and all ages, and for whatever reasons they want to, to improve their violin playing

I studied with Dr. Kim when I was in graduate school at Columbia-Teachers College. This past New Year’s Eve I was telling my older two girls about him and my grad school experience. I know I was nowhere near a great student, but thank God for meeting and studying with Dr. Kim. He kept me playing and I’m so glad to be teaching music 22 years later. Sometimes you just meet the right person when you most need them.

Dr. Kim is a wonderful performer and teacher! He can quickly identify my problems, explain them carefully and show how to improve. On top of that he is very patient and practices with me until I fully understand. What I like most is that he asks you to ask questions before each lesson, which makes me pay more attention when practicing on my own. I am really thankful to have met Dr. Kim, and I believe that if I can continue to study with him, I will be able to gain a deeper understanding of music. I would recommend Dr. Kim to everyone who wants to improve their technique and musicality.

Dr. Chin Kim is an excellent teacher. He is kind, patient and detailed, and will work with you on a skill until you’ve mastered it. I’ve studied with him on-and-off since 2012 (I moved around a bit), and every time I go back to lessons, I improve exponentially. All levels of students, from beginner to professional, can learn a lot from him.
