Teaching since:

I'm Chet a senior Information Systems undergraduate student at UMBC. I have been tutoring Computer Science for over a year at bSmart Learning Center in Ellicott City, Maryland, and I love it - I find great satisfaction from seeing students develop their coding skills and gain an interest in the subject! I try to make my lessons as engaging as possible and give practical examples of each concept I teach. I place a great emphasis on practice; I believe that there is no substitute for learning how to code than to practice. With every lesson I aim to challenge my students and push the boundaries of their understanding.

I'm easy to get along with and I'm accommodating to all people with all levels of experience. I've always been told that having me as a tutor has made computer science classes easy for students and served them as a strong preparation for AP exams and future courses. I've worked with students from elementary school to high school. I strongly believe that no matter your age, it is never too early or too late to start coding!

I have coursework in C++ and Python and have tutoring experience in other languages like Java and JavaScript. I've had lifelong experience with computers - even as a child, I was interested in building and modifying computers. I spend my free time learning new technologies and developing software, which is what I hope to do after I graduate! It is a uniquely rewarding experience to build a piece of software and I hope to share my enthusiasm for it with you.

Feel free to message me with any questions or schedule a lesson with me!
