I am a passionate playwright and theater enthusiast. I also hold a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and maintain a small private practice where I specialize in women's mental health. I believe the fields of Psychology, Writing, and Theater are entirely interwoven, as all creative arts are rooted in the human experience.
My students can expect to improve week to week in their ability to conceptualize a plot (from beginning to conclusion) and formulate characters whose voices are congruent and authentic. I can help students overcome writers blocks and brainstorm ideas, while bolstering confidence in themselves as creative theater writers.
While I am here as a teacher and mentor, I believe that ever writer has a unique and valuable perspective. I am here to help you develop YOUR voice, not to simply interject mine. I offer constructive feedback and alternative perspectives designed to challenge you as a writer. These challenges are often a catalyst to deepening your creative process.
I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic play writers. My personal passion is in deeply emotional, edgy, and dramatic work, though I've also written lighter pieces and comedic shorts. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to develop your skills as a playwright.
