Crochet is my passion and God-given talent and I love to share what I learn with others! I've been crocheting off and on since age 10 via books, dedicated teachers, YouTube, crochet magazines, and online communities including Ravelry, Pinterest, crochet blogs, yarn company websites to name a few. I love trolling for online patterns, can interpret the unique crochet "language" and have literally binders full of crochet patterns I've saved over the years. Friends and family know what to to expect from me as gifts--handmade crochet items. They have encouraged me to sell my creations... I've been teaching for almost 10 years, offering private and group lessons up to five students. Also, I am a current member of the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) since 2009. Lessons are designed for folks who have never picked up a crochet hook or who want to refresh their skills or learn new ones. Lessons are available online, at your home or my studio.

This was GREAT!! I learned 2 new stitches and she made it SO easy. We started out by showing what I already knew and talked about how I learned best. I got a skein of yarn in my favorite color to practice with. Cheryl introduced me to a lot more crochet possibilities and tools to use for the craft. I had so much fun and can't wait to take my next classes.

    Experience

    Crochet Teacher

    Sep, 2010 - Nov, 2015

    Art 2 Go

Taught biweekly group crochet classes for up to five students ranging from beginner to advanced, male and female whose ages ranged from 8 to past 70. Lessons on broomstick lace, basic stitches (slip, single, half double, double, treble, double treble, etc.), and combinations. Scarves, shawls, afghans, totes/bags/purses, belts, jewelry, scrubbies, washcloths & dishcloths are just some of the projects my students completed. Also, I rented space in the building and sold my handcrafted crochet items to customers. Several customers commissioned me to make items for them as well. I had to stop teaching there because the owner retired and sold the business. Since then, I've led classes at my workplace; teach at my church's women's retreats; and hold informal lessons and share tips and techniques at the request of my grandkids (boys and girls) and friends.
