Aerial Tissue Silks with Cheryl B.

In 2009, I was diagnosed with advanced arthritis and was told that I needed both knees replaced. The doctor made me feel like my life was over and I had to stop all exercise/that I would not be able to do anything without the surgery. I went into a downward depression for about 3 months, then decided "Ok, if my fitness life is basically over, then I am going to make a list of all the fitness things/feats/challenges that I want to do that I should not be able to do!" And learning aerial was one of the things on that list. I found a school and it was very hard for me at first. But it was perfect for my knees, back, everything. My flexibility improved off the charts, my knees stopped hurting and my strength went up tri-fold. I never had the knee surgery, started taking really good supplements for my arthritis... and I never go more than a few days without training in Aerial! I now teach and perform and do crazy feats like aerial performances 140 feet in the air over the water! I now actually thank that Doctor for giving me the spark I needed to give Aerial a try. ....It's completely changed my life!
