Hi I'm Cherise! I'm a lover of music and play several instruments including the violin, clarinet, ukelele and various percussive instruments. The piano was my first and longest music love. I began playing at about age 5 and got very serious about it in my teens. As an adult especially I've found so much joy in playing music in my home, especially alongside others.
Almost more than I love playing music, I love teaching music. As an AMI certified Montessori teacher, I have a deep understanding of how the mind develops and I apply my knowledge of how to help people learn in my lessons.
My goals are to help my students feel positive about playing music, and to see them make progress. I have a lot of patience and I know what it takes to play well. We have bi-yearly recitals on a grand piano for the families of my students. I'm always impressed with the results of their hard work.
As a Montessori teacher I have a government issued fingerprint clearance card and am happy to show that before beginning lessons.
Taking the journey of learning music with another person is amazing and I consider it an honor to be that person for each of my students. I hope you'll join me and discover what is possible through the piano!
Cherise piano lessons were a pleasure for my kids while they were learning beginning piano. She taught from the same piano curriculum mainstream studios were teaching their students for a fraction of the cost. Cherise teaches with a gentle and patient approach. Having experience teaching students of all levels of ability and strengths, she knows how to tailor the lessons specific for the student.+ Read More
Cherise was such a great piano teacher to our kids, I'm sad she moved away! She's patient and kind, and does a great job of keeping them on track. She was encouraging at the right time and connecting, so my children loved lessons and were motivated to do their best. We highly recommend her for piano lessons!+ Read More
