Her most recent performance was singing the role of Nannetta in Falstaff with Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance Program in New York City at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. Chelsea was described as “an excellent Nannetta.” Partial roles include Marie in La Fille du Régiment, Sophie in Werther, and the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel. Recently Chelsea sang the roles of Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and Adele in Die Fledermaus with Ridge Light Opera Company of New Jersey. Last summer, she was an Apprentice Artist at Opera in the Ozarks and sang the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus. In February of 2011 Chelsea had the privilege of singing for renowned American Baritone, Thomas Hampson, in a select vocal Master Class that was performed before a live audience and was live streamed on the internet at Manhattan School of Music. She has sung in Masterclasses for Paul Gemignani, Lauren Flanigan, John Fisher, and Martina Arroyo at Manhattan School of Music. In the spring of 2011 Chelsea sang the role of Papagena in The Magic Flute with Manhattan School of Music’s Opera Studio Outreach program affiliated with Tony Amato. In November 2011, Chelsea was awarded with an Encouragement award at the Metropolitan Opera Competition at the Connecticut District. Chelsea sang with Grumbling Gryphons in their children’s opera Esther singing the lead role of Esther music by Donald Sosin. Chelsea was also an original member of Dances Patrelles World Premiere: Gilbert and Sullivan the Ballet! (2011) where she sang selections from The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado and H.M.S Pinafore. This performance was revived in May 2012 at DiCapo Opera Theatre. In addition Chelsea won Second Place in the 2010 Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition and Honorable Mention in the 2010 Irma M. Cooper Opera Columbus International Vocal Competition. *** Lesson Details *** My students can expect an outgoing, safe and positive environment where they can nurture and grow with their vocal abilities. My students will learn the fundamentals of vocal technique so they feel comfortable and secure singing in whatever style of music. *** Studio Equipment *** Lessons will take place in my apartment on a keyboard. *** Travel Equipment *** Recorder for voice lessons and note book! *** Specialties *** Classical voice is really my strongest suit.
