Welcome to the vocal studio! Your decision to pursue singing is an exciting and rewarding one, whether as a professional goal or a serious hobby. Singing requires dedication, practice, and commitment, but it’s also a lot of fun. Together, we will explore the following skill sets: ● Producing full and beautiful tone ● Breath support ● Expanding range and size (volume) ● Diction and expression ● Refining pitch and developing aural skills ● Finding “your” repertoire ● Audition and performance techniques As a trained opera singer with degrees from The Juilliard School and Mannes College: The New School for Music, I am a firm believer that a solid classical technique provides the gateway to successfully singing in many styles and genres, including pop, musical theater, and more. As a singing actor, I know that finding ​your​ unique voice and expressing yourself are paramount. While there are many universal truths to singing technique, I believe that one size does not fit all; as we work together, we will discover how ​you​ learn best and can best achieve your own personal goals. Whether you are a young person hoping to land the lead in the school musical, an adult longing to rekindle your love of singing, or you simply want to increase your confidence in front of an audience, voice lessons can open up a whole new world of artistic expression. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide books and copies of music. The student needs to provide a piano or keyboard. *** Specialties *** I have bachelor's and master's degrees in classical voice, but I also have musical theater experience and am comfortable in a variety of styles. I believe that healthy singing technique can be applied to any genre of music!
