I have been playing the violin for over 29 years. I like to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students regardless of their age. I would prefer beginners to take at least one year of piano lessons prior to learning how to the play the violin. This way students can transfer basic music knowledge into violin playing, especially in the field of reading and learning new music. My goal is to help music lovers learn how to teach themselves one day when a music teacher is no longer available. I started teaching in 2011 while I was completing the Master of Music degree at Rice University. As I finished my Doctor of Musical Arts degree in December 2017, I decided to build and expand my own studio in Burleson, TX. If you are a beginner under age 10, I strongly recommend you to take in-person lessons. I currently do not accept beginner students under age 10 that would like to sign up for online lessons. If you are a parent who is signing up lessons for your child, please indicate the age of your child . If you are a beginner regardless of age, please sign up for 30 min lessons to begin.

Wonderful beginner lesson! Ms. Yang knows how to describe everything in great detail and with a wonderful sense of humor. She was very prepared in her lesson structure. I learned so much in my first lesson, but did not feel overwhelmed. The pacing was perfect. I can tell she has lots of experience teaching beginners. I'm looking forward to more lessons!

Chaul did a great job evaluating my daughters level of knowledge on the first lesson.

I have been learning from Chaul for the past two months. She is a very supportive and patient teacher. I was a complete beginner when I first started, but after one to two weeks, I can play easy tunes like Twinkle Twinkle. Whenever I have any questions regarding the violin, she can give me helpful solutions. When I have lessons with her, I can immediately know where I need to improve and gain a few extra tips on violin playing. I would highly recommend Chaul to you (people who are browsing on Takelessons)!
