In my classes, you will not only learn signs, but you will also learn how to switch from words and sentences (thinking in English) to concepts and descriptions (thinking in ASL). Also, we'll have some fun practicing communicating and having dialogue together. I will also give you the resources needed to learn Deaf Culture and History. You will enjoy this class so much, you won't even realize that you are becoming a beautiful part in the wonderful world of ASL. Hi, my name is Chartisia! (Pronounced like "shar-tee-see-uh") I really love to help people, which is why I am here on TakeLessons. I love seeing people learn new things that help them improve their lives. I teach English beginner through advanced classes and ASL beginner classes. I believe that being able to express ourselves is one of the best gifts we humans have, and language barriers shouldn't get in the way. With my help, you will be able to navigate our multi-lingual world with confidence. A little bit about me...I am 31 years old and have lived in sunny Southern California all my life. My hobbies include going to the beach, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and being a full-time volunteer Bible teacher. I also love nature and exploring it: by hiking, walking, or bird watching. I enjoy seeing other people happy, enjoying life and this wonderful Earth we call home. I look forward to helping you overcome any language barriers and master another language so you can live your best life! Hope to see you in class 😄
