English Literature with Charlotte S.

I have taught English at a high school level for ten years, and at the tertiary level for approximately 2 years. I have volunteered as a Language Arts teacher at the elementary level, and ESL tutor at House of Amos and Literacy Advanced of Houston. Furthermore, I have tutored on Skype, in-home based, email, and telephone to students in Pre-K through grades 8. I have a Bachelors degree in English (Secondary Education), and a Master's degree in Education (Literacy). In addition, I am a certified Texas Language Arts grades 6-8 educator, and a Reading specialist. I believe that all children can learn and all non-native English learners can master the English language. Teachers or tutors responsibility is to provide students with the most effective methodologies. Students learn differently and tutors/teachers need to address each student based on his or her way of learning. If teachers use the student-center approach, students progress gradually and eventually master the various subject areas.
